Hello jeynetic,

Since Jacob the Jeweler (Jacob Arabo) has been in business since 1981,
it's probable that a hip-hop artist bought jewelry from him during the
1980s or early 1990s. I presume that Jacob the Jeweler himself
doesn't know the name of the first rapper to buy one of his items.

But in terms of a first "hip-hop client" -- and a client who started
his fame among rappers -- Jacob the Jeweler's own site points to
Notorious BIG (Biggie Smalls).
