Howdy fgrell,

I would like you to try to following and see it works for you please.

- Close Excel
- Click Start
- Click Settings
- Click Control Panel
- Click Regional and Language Options
- Click on Customize
- Make sure the Decimal symbol is a period and change it to one if it isn't
- If the List separator is a semicolon (;) change it to a comma
- Run Excel and save the file as a CSV file

If the above works for you, please report back here and I can then post the
above as an answer. Thanks!

denco,

That was the problem! I should have suspected as much..as we set the
computer to french language...who knew that that would change the
separator! Thanks for the quick response...

Howdy fgrell,

Glad the following worked to solve your problem.

- Close Excel
- Click Start
- Click Settings
- Click Control Panel
- Click Regional and Language Options
- Click on Customize
- Make sure the "Decimal symbol" is a period and change it to that if not
- If the "List separator" is a semicolon (;) then change it to a comma
- Run Excel and save the file as a CSV file

Excel works off the "universal" settings for your computer, so if it is
set, as was in your case, to a non-U.S. setting, it might be set to use a
semicolon as the separator in files saved out in CSV format.

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.

Search strategy:

Google search on: Excel "save as" comma delimited semicolon
