Hello witness52,
Here are four books that were banned in North or South Carolina. (I
define "banned" as removed from a library or an academic use for some
length of time.)
"Whale Talk," by Chris Crutcher (school district in Georgetown, SC, 2004 or 2005)
"The Catcher in the Rye," by J.D. Salinger (Dorchester District 2,
Summerville, SC, 2001)
"I Want to Keep My Baby," by Joanna Lee (Morehead High School,
Rockingham County, NC, 1994)
"One Hundred Years of Solitude," by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (St. Johns
High School, Darlington, SC, 1990)
