Are you licensed to work as a psychologist in San Francisco? What kind
of job (as a psychologist) are you looking for - research? clinical
therapy? organisational psychology? educational psychology?

Hi, thanks for aking. I'm not licensed and don't know if I can yet. I
would like to work either in research or clinical. I'm not very picky.
Thanks in advance!

Dear Mitch,

Before you seek a job as a therapist, you'd better check if you could
be licensed. You cannot work as a psychologist, unless you are a
licensed one. You can check licensing requirements, including ones for
people with foreign degrees  at:
California Board of Psychologists
<http://www.psychboard.ca.gov/licensing/license.html>

Research and academic psychology jobs could be found at the Chronicle
of Higher Education:
Chronicle of Higher Education - Psychology Jobs
<http://chronicle.com/jobs/100/800/6500/>

Other psychology related jobs could be found through:
PsyCareers
<http://www.psyccareers.com/index.cfm?action=job.search>

California Marriage/Family Therapists Message Board
<http://www.camft.org/Classifieds/emp_opp.htm>

Also check this guide out:
 Planning a Career in Psychology
<http://www.sci.csuhayward.edu/psychology/careers.html> - with many
helpful links for people looking for job in psychology.

General job offers could be found at JobStar

And at the San Francisco Gate Website

Mitch,

I just read your question.
I'm pretty much in the same situation.
I recently graduated in psychology as well and now want to move my
butt from the Netherlands to California. I did a vast amount of
research on this, so maybe we can help each other.

Good idea?
Cheers,
Olivier

Mitch and Referee,
Unless you are by chance US citizens who have gotten your degrees
abroad, you need to look into the matter of immigration:

Here is the site of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service:
