You might have some succes by talking to the sewing machine stores in your area.
Some places they run courses on how to use their machines, others
might know of indiependent courses.

Do you live close?
If you live close you might try visiting the fashion district in
Downtown LA.  I seen many advertisements especially on Broadway.
