I need software that will allow me to print gift certificates from my computer.

Howdy varietydelivery-ga,

What kind of budget do you have for the software, and did you want
to offer them just locally (in a store, etc.) or did you want to
offer them over a web site as well?

I have located some software that will not only do the printing
task, but also the tracking of the gift certificates, etc. as well.

It is not inexpensive software, but rather, is designed for use by
stores and restaurants, etc. with low to moderate gift certificate
production needs.

I have a budget of $300 for the software. I need the software mainly
for the computer, run through a website or a software program on the
computer. I need both the printing task and the tracking task. I am
not looking for products by amicron.com or smartdraw.com.

We have low to moderate gift certificate needs.

Thank you.

Howdy varietydelivery-ga,

As you probably already know, this is a tough one to find.

Gift Certificates Plus, Inc. (GCP) has a product which should do what you
need and stay within your budget.
http://www.egiftworks.com/companyinfo.htm

"Gift Certificates Plus, Inc., a privately held Utah corporation, started
back in 1996 as a technology company with a new product called Giftworks."

Here is the "Features" page for the product.
http://www.egiftworks.com/features.htm

"Giftworks is a Windows based software program designed for printing
and reporting on gift certificates for malls, restaurants, hotels, day
spas, pro shops, retailers, and more.
...
Giftworks Basic: Entry-level product designed for single location/single
user applications. Handles low to moderate certificate volume. This
product numbers every certificate, prints any denomination, allows
personalization ... prints validation date, amount override ... easy
redemption of certificates, detailed reports: sales, redeemed,
outstanding, voided, status and much more."

More is on the "How it Works" page.
http://www.egiftworks.com/pchowitworks.htm

"If you wish to create, print, and report on gift certificates from a
single location, you can do it one of two ways. ..."

They also have a page on the "Reports Features" of Giftworks.
http://www.egiftworks.com/reports.htm

"PC Giftworks allows you to track your company's gift certificates
through all phases and transactions."

They have a demo you can download.
http://www.egiftworks.com/download/gw31m.zip

The price for the above fits within your budget at $279.00.

They also have a "Pro" version that sells for $395.00.
http://www.egiftworks.com/features.htm

"Giftworks Pro: Designed for moderate to high certificate volume.
Includes all of the features found in GWBasic plus: password security,
digitized signature, digitized logo, discounting/surcharging,
networkablity, multiple location tracking, added certificate formats,
certificate editing and more."

If you need it, they also carry "blank" security gift certificate paper.
http://www.egiftworks.com/paper.htm

"We offer standard security certificate paper, and also print highly
customized gift certificates branded with the client's logo and look."

They also have an application that can be run on a web site.
http://www.egiftworks.com/egiftworksweb.htm

"eGiftworks is an Internet application that allows a client to create,
print, validate, redeem, void and report on paper or electronic gift
certificates from anywhere in the world using a secure user name and
password."

Howdy varietydelivery-ga,

I tried out the demo referenced in my answer, and it appears to be
a fully operating 30 day demo. Maybe not the most intuitive to set
up, but that might have been me. Works quite nicely otherwise.

Howdy varietydelivery-ga,

If you had mentioned that Giftworks was one you had rejected, as you
did with the products from Amicron.com or Smartdraw.com, I would not
have suggested it to you. As well, you had the capability of asking
for further clarification before rating my answer, which you might
have been better off in using.

I will check further, but there are not all that many products for
this purpose and I have no idea what other products you have examined
and rejected, unless you communicate that information to me.

There is a great product out called Preferred Patron
(www.preferredpatron.com). They have a complete solution for gift
cards, Loyalty cards and the program even has a built-in promotion
manager which allows you to do things like miss you promos, birthday
promos, referal promos, custom promos etc. The program is completely
user friendly and incorporates significantly more options than any
paper product out. They even track donations and coupons. The price
you can't beat as well. $299.00 for the full featured product to as
low as $39 per month for a hosted option.

Well worth the time to search them out. Good Luck!
