Howdy waltonpc-ga,
This answer of the question will "close" the question, and will
allow you to rate, etc. the answer if you so desire. Glad that
it all worked out for you.
Here is what appears to be the best way to get a Xirlink DSC-Pro
digital camera to work on a computer running Microsoft Windows XP
Professional.
Go to this DriverGuide.com web page.
http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=129077
Click on the "download this file" button on the lower/mid right
hand side.
Select the "Download this file by logging in with your existing
account" menu slection, then click on the "Continue" button.
Use the following for the "Login:" box: drivers
Use the following for the "Password:" box: all
The above are the "generic" login and password for this site.
Click on the "If you don't want to create your new account, click
here" option.
The next page requires you to type a three letter verification,
which you should type in, and then you should select "Your hard
drive" for the "Download Destination" and click the button.
If you have the Internet Explorer (IE) blocker, or another blocker
installed, you might get a warning. In the case of the IE blocker,
click on the yellow bar across the top, the click on "Download File"
to continue. This is a 1.45M file, so it might take some time to
download if you have a slow connection.
Go to where you saved the file, then double click on it to "unzip"
the file. There will be a installation guide text file that is
part of the package named "dscwinxpinstall.txt" that you should read.
Do as it instructs please.
You will see a warning, and you should just tell the process to
continue. Only companies that pay Microsoft a fee, and go through
the testing, and any changes needed to pass the testing, will pass
their "Logo" process. Lots of companies do not chose to go through
this process, and companies like Xirlink, which appears to be "never
more," either didn't choose to or were not around long enough to do so.
Bottom line is that your machine will not blow up if you install
the above referenced driver. Drivers, by the way, are specific to
the device, and for cameras, there are no generic drivers, at least
that I know about. The driver above appears to be best one around
for your camera.
If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.
