Simply turn on your headlights every time. You will also benefit from amber corner lights and illuminated tail lights. Older model cars were grandfathered and not *required* by law to upgrade/modify lighting systems. The law was enacted to reduce collisions and because some people persisted in driving their low gray car in the rain at dusk on two-lane 55 mph highways without lights (like in Scotland). |

I think it is mandatory for imported vehicles (manufactured after Nov 1989). Read this http://www.riv.ca/english/html/mod_inspect_requirements.html Is that not true? |

Hi, it is illegal to change something in the headlamp. A very easy and cheap solution is a additional daytime running light for exapmle from Hella: http://www.hella.com/produktion/HellaPortal/WebSite/Internet_uk/HellaLtd/Products/Light/Daytime_RL/Daytime_RL.jsp It costs maximum 60 Dollar for two.
