We are a group of people in Norway working on On Demand-solutions for
hotels. We want to sell music and videos to hotel-clients through a
local server situated in each client hotel. The customers will be able
to listen to music or watch a film by using his/her in-room televison
set. The client will pay per song/video or hour. How do we aquire
rights to that kind of distribution? What kind of Licence would we
need from the movie/music studios as far as this kind of distribution
is allowed? We would need to have rights to copy
videos/songs/music-videos on to a local server. How do the movie/music
companies charge for this kind of service? Is it a fixed fee (monthly
for example) or is it a percentage of each sale? What are the details
on the security issues that the companies demad us to fulfill?
We would also like to get in contact with the right persons (in
Europe, serving Norway) at
1. the big movie companies like
- Walt Disney and
- News Corp.'s 20th Century Fox
- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer,
- Viacom's Paramount Pictures,
- Sony Pictures Entertainment,
- Vivendi Universal's Universal Studios and
- Warner Bros., a unit of AOL Time Warner.
etc.
2. the big music companies. We don't have a list here, but I guess 5-6
of the biggest companies will do.
Looking forward to hearing from you. |
