Question ID: 557229
I'm looking for a diet program that I used about 4 years ago. It was
sold in the pharmacy of Dillons grocery stores in Kansas. It was
called "Pharmacy Health and Diet Program". It was a 3-step program
that consisted of the first step being a 3 day fast, the second step
being breakfast and lunch meal replacement shakes that were made with
orange juice and the packets of powder that were provided and the
third being a maintenance program with a meal replacement orange juice
shake for breakfast. All steps also included a daily supplements as
well. Each step came in a seperate box that would cost anywhere from
$20 - $30. I can't seem to locate this anywhere. Could you help me
find it? When I search on the interent it just brings up on line pharmacys.

This program was produced by Ives Health Company.

"Ives Health Online Generates Revenue and Increases Capacity" (Feb. 27, 2001)
E-Wire
http://www.ewire.com/display.cfm/Wire_ID/118

Since 2001, Ives Health Company has had a good deal of trouble, as
revealed by a search on Google for "ives health." For example, the
company's founder and former president, Michael Ives, is permanently
barred from acting as an officer or director of a public company.

"SEC Settles Manipulation Case Against Promoter of Ives Health Company
Stock" (Litigation Release No. 19043, January 21, 2005)
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

I doubt that this company is doing much of anything now, including
producing this diet program.

If this information answers your question, please let me know so that
I may post it as an answer.

Is there anywhere that this can be purchased right now? I see where
they had legal troubles with the HIV medication, but I'm wondering if
anyone is carrying the weight loss program anymore.

It wasn't so much the plan that I liked. But, i didn't mind that
"shake for breakfast and for lunch" because they were made with orange
juice and tasted REALLY GOOD. Almost like an orange julius. Can you
give me alternate meal replacement shake diets that are not slim fast
or do not use those gritty shakes that are made with dairy?

Hi there...
if you are unable to locate the diet in question, and need an
alternative, try this one.... There is a fitness book out there called
THE U.S. ARMY TOTAL FITNESS PROGRAM which was written around 1985-86.
They cover many aspects of fitness in a basic, no nonsense way. They
have a chapter on dieting, and they present a LIFESTYLE DIET plan for
both men and women. This plan lets you eat 3 very well balanced and
well-proportioned meals a day, and limits your total daily calorie
intake by telling how many portions you can eat, and carefully listing
what makes a portion for many different kinds of food. I used t his
plan a couple years ago, lost quite a bit of weight, felt great, felt
fine, had plenty of energy, and no problems. You can probably get
this book through www.amazon.com or www.abebooks.com and its
pretty cheap....

Hello,
There are a lot of diet programs that are based on shakes or drinks of
all kinds. If you would really like to get the best products, I would
recommend the line of Protein drinks or Meal Replacement products from
Optimum Nutrition.
The line is specially geared towards athletes and or active people.
However I have had a lot of success in reducing my weight and then
maintaining it for quite a long time now with these products. You can
get from them, every kind of protein available and in many different
flavors. They can all be mixed with water or milk, your choice. If
this sounds like it is of interest to you, you can find these products
on-line from the Optimum Nutrition WEB site. However they sell their
products at full retail pricing so as to not compete with their
wholesale buyers. I found a company called Discount Nutritionals with
a wonderful site on the WEB. Great pricing and a whole lot of good
information on diet exercise and even a section of featured recipes to
give you ideas on how to get the nutrition you need and at the same
time keep the diet or supplement program you are on going strong. You
can find them at www.discountnutritionals.com Hope you find what you
are looking for!!
