Question ID: 557462
I need a laser printer that hass IPP (internet printing protocal)and ethernet.

It will get very little use, so it can be slow. I would like to pay
nder $200 or under $250 if 200 is too low.

The only catch it that i would like to find one that i don't need to
install software for. SOmething that Win XP has built in drivers for.

I don't care if it is new or used.

thanx in advnce

I have upped this question to $20. But i would like to add one thing.

I need an additional printer also.

It is for a Mac (os9), so it needs to support appletalk.

Black and white. Needs to have ethernet and IPP (internet printing protocal).

It will get very little use, so it can be slow. I would like to pay
under $250 if possible.

I'm not sure you can get this printer for less than $250.

The least expensive printer I found that supports it is the Dell 3100cn
http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/colorlaser?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd

What I would recommened is buy a print server (which you can hook up
almost every printer using its normal parallel cable) that supports
IPP and AppleTalk.

You can search for them on the internet (or eBay to get a low priced
one) and they should be in your price range (and even less). Then you
can even take a normal B/W laser printer and hook it up to it.

I am thinking you are right. I do have a print server with IPP. it
only does parallel. So in this case, can someone just send me links
for these 2 printers, minus the IPP requirement. One needs to have
Appletalk, but the other doesn't.

Here are the requirements again.

- Black and white.
- Needs to have ethernet.
- I would like to pay under $200 or under $250 if 200 is too low.
- parallel port
- One needs to have Appletalk since it will go on a OS9 mac. The PC
one doesn't need it, but i would be great if it just worked under win
xp without installing any drivers or software.

After not getting a sresonce back i ended up ordering a used HP LJ 4
for the PC and using a hawking print server with IPP. It works,
mostly, but not reilably. I give up.

For the mac i ordered a:
Brother HL-2070N USB Ethernet 20PPM Laser Printer $160/.

Still waiting to get it.
