Question ID: 558183
had to replace stock hard drive with a new one due to a virus
when the tech put the new hard drive in, i lost all my back up files
and he installed a audio card but i can barley hear it when its all
the way up
so i was wandering that maybe it has to due with the motherboard, i
even took out the card the tech put in and put in a sound blaster live
board and i got the same problem. is there anything i can due to get
the sound back to normal matbe a driver or something. thank you

mike...

Since you're having the same experience with 2 different audio
cards, it's fair to suspect a common element, such as the
motherboard, but I'd be quicker to check the volume control on
your speakers. Most PC speaker systems have a volume control
which is independent of the system itself. Perhaps it got
turned down by accident?

Let me know...

thanks for responding, but no volume control on the pc speakers of any kind.
somehow i think the old hard drive had files in it that were needed
for the sound card that i believe is built in to the mother board. i
turn up the creative mixer volume control software that came with the
sound blaster card to the max and still the same result.

is there any way i could take a picture of the back and the inside of
the computer to show you how they setup the hardware of my computer.
it looks like it has a connection on the back of the computer just for
the orange colored speaker adapter that when i look on the inside of
the case it connects to the motherboard.
