My question is, how do I go about getting my DUI off my record?

I was found guilty in California a little over 2 years ago and if I
remember correctly - it can be removed after 3 years? Do I need a
lawyer? Do I just go to the DMV? Also, would a DUI surface on an
employee background check?

Your last question -- "Also, would a DUI surface on an employee
background check?" -- would require separate research from your other
questions. Accordingly, while I am interested in researching your
questions, I believe they will require more time and effort than
typically associated with this price.

Here is a link to guidelines about pricing your question:

If you raise the price, or post the final question separately, and
also post a clarification here, the system will notify me and I will
take another look at your questions, which I would be interested in
researching.
