This information is to be used to create a section on a social network
and I know it is done and that it can be done but finding out how they
do it is what I need to know. A lot of sites on the web offer
streaming music videos and music (streaming mp3s or .wmvs and
streaming music videos) to their visitors to watch or listen to. Two
sites in particular are launch.yahoo.com and myspace.com, how and
where do they obtain licensing to stream these popular artists videos
and music? Do they even need a license and are there places to lease
like a package plan of all the popular U.S. and or worldwide artists
all available on one website or through one company?

What I'd like is this, if possible:
1) Explanation of how they are able to do this and if they are paying
to be able to? And if they aren't paying where do you get the files
for popular artists to use? Do you create them on your own or hire
someone to do this?
2) Are there companies that offer a big bulk package of all popular
artists to stream on your website or turnkey solutions for a certain
pricing per month and if so, list the URLs of all the seemingly legit
ones and best ones you find on Google
3) Find out if you can where Myspace.com gets it's videos and popular
music from because they seem to have the best selection along side
launch.yahoo.com
4) The sites you mention must have popular music licensing, myspace
even has Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Coldplay, Incubus, among many
others, this is what I'm looking for access to, these types of artists
5) Also if you search just about any artist you can think of at:
music.myspace.com you'll see a profile for just about any artist you
search...I'm sure not every single one of these popular artists signed
up to Myspace, so are these just profiles generated by Myspace to look
like genuine artist profiles..? Their members even leave comments on
the artist profile pages...for example search Tori Amos, and you'll
see lots of comments left by people thinking it's really her profile
and that she'll read the comments...

Thanks ahead of time for all the help in this topic.
