Ann Landers or Dear Abby wrote in her column at one time words to this effect:
 "If you borrow it, return it. If you break it, replace it .............."
I would very much like to have the complete article if anyone has it.

Hello econprof,
The column that you are referring to is written by Ann Landers and
originally appeared in December 1986.  The rules were known as the
"Golden Rules for Living" and written by Miriam Hamilton Keare. Ann
Landers had reprinted it numerous times per the request of her
readers.  Below are two of the many reprints of that article:
