In Britain, are people reading more books? Specifically: are there more book-buyers than ten years ago? Are these book buyers buying more books than they did ten years ago? And do they actually read the books they buy? Please give sources for your data. |

In the UK more people are reading books as this source shows, but it's a very gradual increase "http://www.booksellers.org.uk/industry/display_report.asp?id=490" "http://www.booksellers.org.uk/industry/display_report.asp?id=488" this small increase would suggest that more book buyers are just buying more books. This also sugests it very likely these books are being read & I personally have noticed far more people in book shops here than in the past, & the number of book stores has rapidly increased to meet demand. I also from personal experience see far more people reading books in public places. This is not how ever solid proof they are all reading books, but most of them are, book prices would also help encourage the book sales & the chances of them being read |
