A secure site is hosted on Apache 2.0.52, where the connection is
generated and the handshake completes without issues, the server is
configured to handshake with the following Apache options:
ALL:!ADH:!EXPORT56:RC4+RSA:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:+LOW:+SSLv2:+EXP:+eNULL. Most
of these pages are viewed from form Posts. Using FireFox on any OS,
we have not encountered any issues, but using IE 6.0 on XP home SP2
and Pro SP2, we intermittently encounter the error ?The page cannot be
displayed.? There is not a single page to which this error is
confined, nor is there any time span that it takes to trigger this
error ? sometimes this error appears at the beginning of a session,
sometimes not for a long time, sometimes it appears many times during
a session, and sometimes not at all ? but again, never does it appear
using FireFox. When we check the SSL logs, there is no error (i.e.
404) nor hit shown at that time for that URL from that specific user ?
it does not appear that the URL that caused IE to not be able to find
ever makes it to the server. When you refresh this page, or click
back and redo the actions, the page is then shown just fine. This
error with IE 6.0 was replicated from many different users, some
behind firewalls and others not.
We suspect that this is an IE issue, but could not find it within MS?
knowledge base (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;870700
seemed to describe it, but did not resolve the issue). How do we
correct this issue? |
