I have a number of remote systems that connect through PPTP VPN to a
Windows 2003 Stardard machine. All these machines have worked
perfectly fine for weeks. Recently 2 of the machines stopped dialing
in. The usernames/passwords/permissions are all fine and double
checked. If i run a netstat across these machines i can see the
remote systems establishing a PPTP connection and then after a small
amount of time the system will go into "TIME_WAIT" on netstat and then
it will re-establish across another port. However RRAS never
registers that the machine is connecting/authenticating and the VPN
ports remain in inactive/listening mode. Everything across this
network is fine for port 1723 and Protocol 47 (other systems are still
fine) and the remote networks we're for some time before they dropped
out.i'm really trying to find out if theres something local to the
server that would keep a limited number of systems from tunneling or
if this is just coincidence and something happened to both remote
connections. Thanks in advance for any help.
