Dear jo999, Yes, prostitution in general is legal in the United Kingdom. However, there are numerous restrictions and governing regulations, such as those defined by the Sexual Offences Acts of 1956 and 2003, but also by other acts, some of them dating back to the 18th century while theoretically still being applicable law. For a summary of the British laws concerning prostitution covering all areas of interest, please follow this link to the website of the Sexual Freedom Coalition: http://www.sfc.org.uk/british_sex_laws.php#prostitution Regards, Scriptor |
