I am looking to possibly use a Sprint PCS branded handset on the Qwest
Network. I am a Qwest employee and we do use the Sprint PCS Network
and I have been told that all that needs to be done is some
specialized programming on the handset to be able to use Sprint's
handsets with Qwest. What needs to be done?

Unfortunatly, Sprint does not use SIM cards in thier phones, which can
be used to easily use a different phone. There is no way to use a
Sprint phone with a different provider. The phones can have different
chipsets for certain features the provider wants. Due to this, some
chips, and firmware would need to be replaced/reprogrammed. This is
out of the ability, of all except technicians at the actual
manufacturer.
