Have you tried contacting the Detroit Police Department or the Wayne
County Circuit Court (Third Judicial Circuit Court)? If so, what did
they tell you? If not, do you want us to contact them to ask about
such records?

I was not even sure where to start. I don't know what is available to
the public and what is not. Do they just let you go sifting through
warehouses of old records or are there librarian type people that keep
it all organized... With what I've heard about Detroit and Wayne
County coupled with my own experiences with gov't in general, it seems
as though you better have a wad of cash, or a friend on the inside, to
actually get information.

To answer your question, no, I have not contacted them. Didn't even
really know where to start, so I guess you've given me that lead. The
police and the courthouse. Seems pretty obvious now.
