Hello Childlikemedia,

The children's video market is a rising $4.8 billion market.

?The U.S. Market for Children's Video Products (April 2005) report
from market research publisher Packaged Facts finds that not only are
kids aware of every entertainment trend, they have the purchase power
to act on their entertainment likes and dislikes.?

Three main trends:
- Sell-through versus rental
- DVD conversion
- Pop culture savvy kids

The children's video is supported more by "sell-through" than rental.

?Children will often watch the same movie or video programming
repeatedly, which is why many parents opt to buy the video cassette or
DVD instead of renting it over and over. Outright purchase was the
more lucrative "kidvid" sales mode in 2004, turning over close to $4.4
billion, a 12% increase over 2003. Alternately, rentals were $485
million at retail in 2004, down 8% from the previous year.?
