Question ID: 560443
I just bought a 2005 Dodge Magnum with the electronics convience group
and the nav system, but it doesn't have the factory Sirius radio. My
dealer said they can't really add it, but I find that hard to believe.
Can my dealer update my car with Sirius radio to make it the same as
if it came that way from the factory?
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

it would be alot cheaper to add on a aftermarket setup for your locar
car-audio retailer it would cost you about 100-300 dlrs depending on
what kind of setup you want

I realize that I could do that. I have heard bad comments on
aftermarket Sirius and XM installs. There is an extra device to mount
somewhere and the sound quality is not good because they use RF
modulators to send the sound in via an FM radio station. I want
something that will integrated directly to my car.

Your dealer is a liar !

I purchased a magnum and had it installed 1 week later. They added
the cost to my payments. About $4.00/month. The first year of
Sirius is free. I would contact Dodge/ Chrysler and complain.

I talked to the dealer parts department and it looks like I can order
the unit that adds the antenna and Sirius features to the factory
radio. I will post the resolution here next week!

The answer is that I did get Sirius radio added to my new Magnum. It
was a bit expensive at about 300 in parts plus a couple of hours of
labor. But I am very happy with the results. It comes up right on the
screen of my Nav system and alternates with the CD tab when you hit
the mode button. Sirius has been great for long trips and short drives
to the office.

The music channels offer a nice selection of commercial free
programming... I only wish the news channels were commercial free!

Is there any chance of getting the manufacturers part number for the
kit for the Magnum, my dealer is still telling me it doesn't exist.
