Howdy becca85-ga,
I am posting this as a "Request for Question Clarification" for reasons
I will get to at the end of this posting.
The Overstock.com description of Dr. Martens Men's Black Huapi Oxford's
soles, as you know from their site or another site, is as follows.
http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?page=proframe&prod_id=1177174
"Huapi leather upper, PVC modified EVB sole
...
Model number 1B81"
The Dr. Martens web site description of the Model number 1B81 Men's Black
Huapi Oxford's soles is as follows.
http://www.drmartens.com/
"soles: CKY"
The Dr. Marten's FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) outlines which of their
soles they consider to be "slip-resistant."
"We make several soles that are slip-resistant. They are the BEN, BEX
Grip Trax, SAF, SBF, Sport, SSD and HUD soles. ... The BEN and BEX soles
are widely available on our line of fashion footwear. The type of sole
a shoe has is listed on the shoebox."
After researching this, I still have no idea what "EVB" or "CKY" mean.
However, Dr. Martens notes that the sole is style "CKY" and style "CKY"
is not on their FAQ list of slip-resistant soles.
If you want, I could post the above as an answer or I could pursue it
further by contacting Dr. Martens. Thanks!
