Please let me know if this will be sufficient, so that I can post that
as answer. The comprehensive information Media sales volumes is
available in "Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2005-2009" by
PriceWaterHouseCoopers (pwc.com)for US $995.00. (individual Chapters
cost $95). There is also a comprehensive research report done on this
by Plunkette Research titled "Plunkett's Entertainment & Media
Industry Almanac" (www.plunkettresearch.com).

A study about this was also conducted by University of Berkley, but
that is somwwhat old (2003).

Looking forward to your reply.

researcher neoportal-ga in a question "Amount of books in the USA and
in the world?". Read about it at

Clarification of Question by eliahu-ga on 28 Aug 2005 12:33 PDT
The figure I'm looking for, really, is approximate total media sales -
it would be better divided by media type, but I'd happily settle for a
reasonably well-based world yearly US & world total media sales in $.
Do you think this number can be produced from the data you've
gathered?

Thanks for all the info and helpful links. I will be happy to clarify
the question more as necessary.
