I would like a full list of all construction companies that are either
based in or work in London. This list should include only companies
with a turnover in excess of £0.5m and have their telephone numbers
too. Good luck!

Asking for ALL of something is a topic researchers tend to shy away
from because ALL of something is not always available to us. How many
companies meeting your criteria would answer this question for you?

Well in truth I'm not sure how many this would total but I would
hazard a guess that there would be 2000+ companies that fit this
criteria. Thanks

bruteseed-ga,

There is a free online service that can generate a list of virtually
all construction companies in the UK (the entire nation...not just
London).

The list can be broadly grouped by company size. For example, there
are 532 construction companies in the UK classified as Large/Very
Large. Another 5,000 or so are classified as Medium (I didn't tally
up the smaller companies).

The companies are listed 25 to a page, so it would take a lot of
clicking through pages to see several thousand companies.

The listings look like this:

===============
AMEC P L C
HARTFORD (NORTHWICH), United Kingdom
Very Large

BALFOUR BEATTY PLC
LONDON, United Kingdom
Very Large

GEORGE WIMPEY PLC
LONDON, United Kingdom
Very Large

DAVY CORPORATION PLC
LONDON W1A 4DD, United Kingdom
Very Large

WILSON BOWDEN PLC
IBSTOCK, United Kingdom
Very Large

===============

and so on.

No phone numbers are provided.

For each company, you can click on the company name for access to a
lot more information, but at this point, you will have to subscribe to
the site's service in order to access the additional details.

Again, there are thousands of construction companies listed in the UK,
and grouped by size.

Is this resource of interest to you? If so, I'll be glad to post the
details for accessing the list as an answer to your question.

bruteseed-ga,

Just checking in. Did you happen to see my remarks of September 9th?
If so, your feedback would be most welcome.

I really feel that for the fee I've offered I'd like a bit more than
just a link to a site.

I thought that with the fee involved someone would put several hours
work into answering the question - I don't consider a link enough to
be completely honest. Had I wanted that I would have priced the
question at $2.

Thanks anyway.

I'm sure the researchers here are quite willing to put in more than
just a few hours, as needed, to answer a nicely-priced question like
yours.

However, no researcher seems able to compile a list of more than 2,000
construction companies in a mere few hours.

The only way I know how to do it, is to take advantage of pre-existing
company directories, in the manner I described earlier.

Perhaps another researcher will come up with an alternative approach
to better meet your needs.

Cheers,

Thats fine - it's just that all you really offering is a link to a
site that I have to subscribe to for the answer.

Fingers crossed someone knows an alternative method.

Thanks for trying.
