I need help getting my website up and running. My intention is to
launch a website devoted to the leisure industry that will offer
content and discussion boards pertaining to certain leisure activities
and products.

I have registered a domain that I think is very catchy and I paid a
developer to assemble a front page and the message boards, but I think
the site needs more message boards, room for frequently updated
content, and possibly more features like online chat etc. In
addition, I need someone to manage the forums since I have a fulltime
job. The site is not active currently.

My ultimate goal is to generate enough traffic and advertising revenue
to make this a profitable business.

So I think I need either a business partner or service company that can
modify the site and manage the message boards and content on a daily
basis and help with marketing if I need it.

I desire answers to the following questions:

1) Who should I hire to finish the site and manage the day to day
operation? Why and roughly how much will it cost me up front and per
month?

2) Who could I partner with (investor/company that would get equity
ownership) to finish the design and launch and run my website and why?

3) Which is the better solution? Is there another best option?

You can hire any number of companies to finish the website for you.
The quality and uniqueness of the finished product is correlated to
how much you want to spend. How much are you prepared to invest?

The upkeep and maintenance on such a project is not very difficult.
You would be better off hiring a high school graduate to run things
than bringing on an equity partner.

Thanks, but I'm really looking for more specific answers than "any
number of companies" and "a high school graduate."

Specifically, which companies specialize in these types of online
businesses, what services to they perform, and how much do they
charge?

If I hired an individual to maintain the site, what qualifications
should I look for? How much will I have to pay them?

Is there not a media investment company that will accept a percentage
ownership of the company to make this happen?
