this is a multipart question:

I am looking for softwares/packages and related research work to
model/simulate agents/customers in supermarkets (using Swarm
Intelligence), one should be able to define different number of agents
with different shopping lists and shopping behaviors using these
softwares.

Expected answers:

1. List / links of softwares/products/packages
(commercial/non-commercial both) to simualte/model supermarkets

2. list/links of groups/universities/individuals/comapanies working on
"Supermarket profit/sales increase using swarm intelligence and/or
agent based modeling", in general i am interested in any work to
improve sales in supermarkets using swarm intelligence and/or agents

3. list/links of research/conference publciations from reputed
journals like consumer behavior journal, IEEE and ACM etc on
supermarket customers modelling or swarm intelligence applications in
supermarkets

not sure if the question is still relevant.  We have had some success
using Net Logo for problems like this.  Very easy, and "intuitive",
both from a programming and showing results.
