I need to find recent "innovative" Alliances (Collaborations -
Partnerships - joint development) and Joint Ventures
1. who created/developed new products or services.
2. who create totally new Market.
Both partners need to be sharing something (R&D, Knowledge
technology,..other then Cash). |

Hi!
How many articles discussing such types of joint ventures will be
acceptable as a legitimate answer?
Thanks!

What would be interesting?
1. A list of recent (max 2 years old) "Innovative" Alliances (20-30)
and Joint Ventures (about 10) in industries that are not just tech and
Pharma... but a little bit in each industry. (No geo limit)
2. Description of Alliances - Joint Ventures (date)
Do they create new Markets? Products? Systems?
What does it involves? (ex: joint R&D, Design, marketing, tech transfer, ?)
What is the purpose? (ex: new creation product, gaining access to know-how, ?)
Why is it innovative?
3. Sources
If you have any other questions or idea, please let me know
And good luck

Hi again!
It seems that innovative partnerships are quite hard to find so the
requirement on industry is a little tough. Would any industry be
enough as long as we can get 20 to 30?
Thanks!

If the numbers of Alliances and Joint Ventures are too hight just let
me know what you have.... if it helps to go back up to 3 years for new
markets creation that is fine with me... (New Markets ex: first
laptop...)
thanks again

Hi!
The problem I have mainly is with the industries. If you would accept
innovative joint ventures for any industry then that will be ok. Right
now, I only have 2 examples and they are both from the tech sector.
Thanks!

Hi! Here are some new questions.
When you say they have to develop new products or markets do you mean
something that we haven't seen before? Or NEW in the sense that both
companies haven't done that before among their line of products or
services or even markets?
Thanks for your patience.

Both...
Older exemple: Philips and Sara Lee created together Senseo (new
Product in existing market). Other Exemple(bad one since no alliance):
The discovery of Viagra create a new market.
I didn't find anything yet but I know they is the Robot suit for
disabled people so they can walk? maybe they is an alliance that made
the robot suit possible. This would be a good example of new market
since it serves people that have legs but can't get up.
Thank you ;)

Hi!
This was tougher than I thought.
I only found 16 examples of these types of joint ventures. Some of
them had already developed the products while others are still in the
development or conceptual phase. All of them however had already
formalized the joint venture project.
Would you be interested in these examples?
Thanks!

If you only have Joint Venture it will not help much I need Alliances
(collaboration). But maybe you call joint venture what I call
Alliance??

In alliance
Each partner retains business and cultural independence
Usally a non-equity relationship
Share benefits
Joint Venture
Usally create a separate entity or company
(ex: SonyEricsson)

Hi!
After reviewing my sources, I can say I've got about 6 alliances and
10 joint ventures based on your definition.
Will this be ok?
Thanks!

example. I hope another researcher can be of help to you.
Thanks!

answers my questions about the why they are together and how? and what
product the managed to create? then you can call it done.

Hi again!
In some instances the articles only show that they are developing a
product but in others the product has already been done.
Examples:
http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2004/jan/28pepsi.html
http://www.aarp.org/research/press-center/presscurrentnews/kantar_group_and_aarp_services.html
Is this ok?
Thanks!

hello,
1. They don't create anything.. it is just advertising using two known brands
(Unless I miss understand the article)
2. Is more interesting.
Yes the product can be out in the public doesn't need to be in devl phase.
I want exemples like this "The partnership between BMW and ZF
Lenksysteme" to create an innovative steering system
http://extfile.bah.com/livelink/livelink/150791/?func=doc.Fetch&nodeid=150791
or http://www.convergence2004.org/pdfdocs/abstracts.pdf
in the last link you have many other exemple... you may find other
websites that talk about those exemples in more details.. and about
the collaboration.
Sorry about that... I know how frustrating because it is just a
question of finding one good lead that shows you many other... or even
websites....
Best of luck and thanks for the effords
