Hello!
I have a Nokia 6100 phone and an Apple iBook G4 computer using OS
10.4.2. I would like to connect the phone to the computer to
synchronize my contact list and agenda using iSync. At the moment, my
computer does not recognize the phone, or cable at all. ISync cannot
identify any attached devices.
I purchased a USB Data Cable (no brand name) that came with DOS
software. The package for the cable indicated that additional drivers
might be found at Prolific Technologies, http://tech.prolific.com.tw.
I downloaded and installed the PL-2303 MAC X driver as was suggested
on the FAQ. This results in a file called PL2303_1.0.9b6.pkg.hqx, to
be opened with StuffIt Expander. After expanding the file, loading
the driver and restarting my computer, however, my computer still
fails to recognize the cable or phone. Using software included with
the cable, I was able to install the cable on a PC running Windows XP.
I have done a fair amount of research with Google using such terms as,
?nokia mac usb driver?, yet have not found any information that has
helped. Several sites direct searchers to the Prolific Technologies
site, listed above.
I would like to know where I can download a driver that will allow me
to connect my phone and computer so that I may synchronize my contact
list and agenda using iSync.
Thanks! |
