Howdy panheadpaul-ga,

According to a contact at Bayliner, the reservoir in question
contains the gear lube for your boat's stern drive.

This reservoir should have wiring and a switch that will set
off an alarm if the lube gets too low.

You are supposed to use Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube,
and only Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube for this purpose.
You should be able to source it from your local boat shop, but
you can also get it through boating supply web sites.

The reservoir should not be filled over 2/3 full to allow for
expansion.

As for maintenance information, your best best will be Bayliner
themselves, through one of their dealers.
