The bottom third of this container is clear, the top 2 thirds is black with possably a pump or motor behind it. What is this? and what fluid do i use to keep the level up. Also where can i get info on this boat for maintenance, i already have the manual for the volvo penta motor. THANK YOU |

Howdy panheadpaul-ga, According to a contact at Bayliner, the reservoir in question contains the gear lube for your boat's stern drive. This reservoir should have wiring and a switch that will set off an alarm if the lube gets too low. You are supposed to use Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube, and only Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube for this purpose. You should be able to source it from your local boat shop, but you can also get it through boating supply web sites. The reservoir should not be filled over 2/3 full to allow for expansion. As for maintenance information, your best best will be Bayliner themselves, through one of their dealers. http://www.bayliner.com/dealer_locator.asp "Dealer Locator" You could also call them at: (800) 443-9119 If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask. Search strategy: Emailed a Bayliner representative. Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher |
