Question ID: 562597
I have a pentium III 800 Mhz processor with 256 meg ram Intel
motherboard d815eea, running win98se, with an Intel ExpressInstaller
covering d815eea2,d815epea2,d815efv and d815epfv. Everything that I
want installed has been installed except for the subject above LAN.
Now my network is not working. I cant see anyone on the net, nor can I
even see the network icon which usually resides on the desktop just
under internet explorer icon and called network neighbourhood. The
seller of the pentium ( a firm) told me that the network card was as
above onboard. The light on the back of the computer is on green, and
so is it green on the dsl504g, 2nd line. Everything seems to be in
order. When I go to system to network adaptor, all that is there is
dial up adaptor - no ethernet NIC. Can you tell me where should I
start, and do you think the onboard NIC is faulty, and maybe I should
just whip the back off the computer and install a reatek card?
