In microsoft WORD i need a way to center the results from the "find
and replace" function so i don't have to scroll around to see context.
I know how to move the command box. I don't want to have to
format, or reformat, the document to accomplish this either. Than
you. |

your suggestion doesn't work for me not your fault nor author of
report nor mine let me hasten to add to be exact "split screen"
technique does not solve problem i have of not being able to see
context surrounding "hit" result of "find and replace" the author
of the article says it sets the "hit" into the first or second row but
on my system it doesn't "hit" ends up on first line even in "split
screen" mode Thank u

Hi 0563,
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I have my Word doc
open and I followed the directions too. It seems to work for me.
I have the Find and Replace box in the top screen and the found
highlighted text appears in the lower box, always on the second line
(unless it's in the first line of the document) so that I can see the
line above and several lines below the highlighted text.
Try the directions again, ok?
1) Window / Spit
2) Click upper window
3) Find and Replace (drag to upper window if necessary)
4) Type text
5) Click in lower window
6) Find
I hope that helps!

Hi 0563-ga,
Thanks for the update. It is weird, I can't imagine what the problem
is. Don't give up, though. Leave your question open and you never
know, someone may have a solution. I'll keep it percolating in my
brain and perhaps I'll think of something. Weird, though.
You hit Find Next, Find Next, Find Next and they all show up on the
first line, right? I'm going to run through the directions again, we
must be missing something...

Word Boosters (shareware)
"Word Boosters is a package of high-quality, user-friendly macros that
add significant function to Microsoft Word 97, Word 2000 and Word XP."
Includes: A quick find & replace toolbar
"The Quick Find Toolbar is simply one of the fastest ways to navigate
around your document and to find and replace text. Using this toolbar
you can quickly skip through headings in your document, find hidden
text, move quickly from one shape, table, footnote, hyperlink, quote,
or page to another, or find and replace text without calling up Word's
Find dialog box (and much, much more)!"

thanks and thanks for tips on wordboosters i imagine i'm in some
type of local thing back and forth between XP and WORD in a coupele
of weeks it may work after MS gets through polling itself the
solution might be some of these new desktops that are coming out (some
free) i wonder how they handle the "context" feature in their
search function this is not a question
