The text on some commercial web pages is too small for me to read on my monitor. There must be some way to fix this, otherwise no one else could read their web pages. What can I do? I have a Samsun 910MP monitor (19" hi resolution flat panel) and have the desktop properties set to 1280x1024 screen resolution - I've tried all the way down to 800x600 (the minimum resolution available in my desktop properties box) which is still illegible, however I can guess at the individual letters in that resolution. On a single web page, some text is as large as 1" tall (on 600x800) and other text is so small as to not be legible (roughly 1/16?"). A web page for example is http://www.schwab.com/ where the largest text is over 1/2" but most of the text on that web site is so small as to be illegible on my montor in 1024 mode or 600/800 mode. I'm using Windows XP servie pack 2 and internet explorer version 6.0.29 Please help!!!! | |

Dear johnt01-ga, Pleased to see that it works now. By way of answer I'll just post the same comment. Have you tried in your Internet Explorer going on the tool bar click> View click> Text Size Then you can select the text size you require. Have a good week-end yourself. answerfinder-ga |

The View > Text Size option should solve your problem on most sites but often throws out the format of the webpage. There is an excellent piece of software called Web Eyes that I have been using for a couple of years which is available as an Explorer plug-in: http://www.ionwebeyes.com/ You can also try the new Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 5000 which allows you to instantly magnify any portion of your screen without zooming into the whole display. |
