It needs to contain a very simple operating system and a very well
made text editor.

Something just a little more than microsoft's wordpad

My "Comment" on the minimum requirements for a computer now-a-days are
the following:

CPU
Motherboard
RAM
Hard Drive
Power Supply
CDROM, DVDROM or just a DVD-Writer (which has them all in it)
1.44 Floppy Drive - (for those annonying products that still come with
a floppy and no cd)
Video Card (if not already built into motherboard)
Sound Card (Optional)
Case w/ some fans

I think that covers the basics.
