I need to know the annual production measured in tonnes of all types of 
- tobacco  (or sales measured in tonnes)
- maize /corn
- rice
- cotton
- groundnuts
in Malawi from 1964 to 1982 - no problem if some of the figures are
stated in short tons

Great. A timeous response just what I wanted. However the groundnuts
statistics are not consistent with the stats that I have post 1982 so
I seek clarification on this. The figures that I have from Fewsnet are
a lot lower. Any chance of a quick response?

Dear Chipongwe,

I have done extensive additional research, but it proved impossible to
find explanations for the discrepancies you mentioned, and alternative
data collections. It is extremely hard to come by agricultural
statistics for African countries, so in case of doubt I would use the
United Nations' data for citations.

Quick response which is what I wanted and in Metric tonnes so no
hassles from the conversion. No scope for returning an exceptional
answer as this is basic fact required. The groundnut figures are being
clarified as they appear to be inconsistent.
