Looking for name and author of a novel featured in an American
literature class I took in 1992 at the U.S. Military Academy at West
Point.  Novel was a fictional account dealing with 1960s drug scene in
California...protagonist was a man featured in the first
person...story describes his corruption and descent into moral
uncertainty.
