Hello crutchfield-ga,

It seems that there is some confusion about who is the artist that
created the poster you?re looking for. There is no ?periodic table of
fruits and vegetables.? Rather, there is a poster for ?Periodic Table
of the Fruits and Nuts? and one for ?Periodic Table of the
Vegetables.? The Ten Speed Press catalog shows the artist as ?Food for
Thought? so it appears that the right are owned by a company.

Further searching shows that the two posters were created by artist
Naomi Weissman. I was able to find lots of poster catalog to reflect
this. Searching for her biography and contact information doesn?t
yield any information.

I found some information about a San Francisco area freelance
illustrator named Carla Simmons but I couldn?t locate any contact
information for her and I also couldn?t find anything to indicate that
she is the artist behind the Periodic Table posters carried by Ten
Speed Press.

I suggest that your best bet is to contact Ten Speed Press to see if
they can clarify this question for you.

I have the poster of the fruits and nuts (my mistake, not vegs) on the
bottom corner it states design by naomi weissman and the illustrations
by carla simmons.
I need the (direct) contact info for carla simmons.

illustrator.

Further research shows that Carla J. Simmons illustrated some coloring
books as well as the poster you have. She may also have gone by the
name of Carla J. Kapit at one time. Wynn Kapit was a fellow
illustrator with Carla J. Simmons/Kapit on some of the coloring books
created by Lawrence M. Elson. ?Elson is the founder and president of
Coloring Concepts, Inc. (CCI), producer and packager of college level,
educational, scientific directed-coloring texts." He may be able to
put you in touch with Carla J. Simmons or someone who might have
additional information about her.

The illustrator is Carla J. Simmons. She has also done illustrations
for several books published by University of California Press. Two are
listed on Amazon.

University of California press does not give out contact information
for authors (and presumably illustrators).

On a hunch I searched the University of California directory. No
listing there. I did a fairly thorough search online and found no
personal or professional webpage for Carla Simmons. I also was unable
to find anything she illustrated after 2000. Perhaps she is no longer
active.

My recommendation would be to try to reach her through one of her
publishers and hope that she gets back to you personally.
