I am researching the electrical and electronic systems (EES) in
automobiles and am looking for the following information:

Weight content of EES for a "typical" 10 year old car and for a
"typical" or "luxury" new car, broken down into the following
categories:
1. Sensors
2. "Basic" actuators (solenoids, moving coils, electromagnetic step
motors) -> not electric motors
3. Wire harness / cables
4. Electronic control units
5. Integrated mechatronic components
6. Motors / generator
7. Lights / lamps

So far I have not been able to find much reliable information even for
very rough approximations. I realise that researching this question
fully would be very time intensive; what I am looking for is ideas for
how I could find information and any sources that can be found
quickly. Right now my only thoughts are to contact automobile
manufacturers/suppliers, but I believe this would be a rather timely
exercise.

Timing is an issue; answers that can be supplied by Wednesday night
(say 11 pm EDT) are useful.
