In a comment that you made to another question, you mentioned that my findings were acceptable as an answer, so I've reposted the material below. "I don't know if HBO is transmitting in HD but we delivered all the shots in HD. The show was shot on 35mm, so we worked in a mixture of HD and 2K (depending on the requirements for tracking etc.). It was all a bit... complicated. But the quality of the work produced was very high." VFXTalk: ROME on HBO http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=4220 This is the Google search string that led me to the post quoted above: Google Web Search: hbo rome "shot in OR on" ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=hbo+rome+%22shot+in+OR+on%22 Since this was posted by Steven Bray, a graphic artist who worked on effects for "Rome," I believe the information can be trusted. According to this, "Rome" was shot on 35mm film: "I don't know if HBO is transmitting in HD but we delivered all the shots in HD. The show was shot on 35mm, so we worked in a mixture of HD and 2K (depending on the requirements for tracking etc.). It was all a bit... complicated. But the quality of the work produced was very high." http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=4220 |
