Well, the online courses i would be taking in Bahamas where i live
now. But if i went to a school where there is IB courses it would have
to be in England because i am moving there next summer. I lived in
England for 11 years then left for 6 and i am now taking this IB so i
can go to England and go to university without having to go back to
highschool to do all my exams (GCSE's etc). If this helps i want to be
a Vet, so my IB choices would be along the lines of Biology,
Chemistry, Physics (maybe), Psychology, and Maths.

ok...i have some more information that might help..if you find a
school in England that does the IB courses than that would be fabulous
as well as online courses..the areas that i am most interested in is
Reading, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire. London is a bit of a no no
because it is too far away and the traffic is unbearable...but if you
find anything in London please let me know..Hannah

Hi again,

I have found a number of schools that offer a IB diploma program in
London, but none in the 3 ares you mentioned. I am still looking for
an online program as well. Do you want me to list the London ones then
if I can find an online source for you as well. I'm not telling you'll
I'll have an answer yet, just trying to define some parameters.

Hello again,

From what I can tell, since most IB courses are offered as part of a
high school curriculum (the same as AP courses, they replace your
normal courses), they?re not offered online. Most high school students
can?t take an online course, so IB placement/diploma courses is not
offered online either. I think your best bet would be to take the
courses once you move to the UK in a school setting. Would you like a
list of IB schools in the UK for an answer?

Hannah, can I ask your age? In compiling my list, I realized most of
these schools are ages up to between 18 and 20 and you say you've been
out for 6 years, so I'm assuming you're older than that. If you can
give me your age, I can narrow it down to schools that meet your age
as well.

Also, please go here (http://www.ibsca.org.uk/ibsca-index.htm) and
look at the map. Tell me the area you want to go to school in and I'll
pull schools only in that area(s)

Hello Hannah,

Here is a list of IB schools in England that may meet your needs. They
are all in the South of England, Co-Ed, or female only and within your
age group. I listed both Private and State schools for you to choose
from. Please realize with your age and being gone for so long, the
admissions process may be a little different from you. I recommend you
calling/ e-mailing the schools, explaining your situation, and
checking it out before apply.

Please pay close attention to Hastings College, The Henley College,
and St. Claire?s as I feel that these schools may best meet your
needs. Fees varies, it looks like the state schools are MUCH cheaper
if that?s a factor for you.

ACS International Schools

?To earn an IB Diploma, students are required to study six subjects
(three at Higher Level, and three at Standard Level): a literature
course in the student?s native language; one additional language;
maths; experimental sciences; social sciences; and arts or another
subject from the sciences, languages or humanities. In addition,
students must complete 150 hours of Creativity, Action, and Service
(CAS), write an extended essay (similar to a university research
paper), and take a Theory of Knowledge course.?

?ACS consistently has a 95% or higher pass rate for full Diploma
candidates (the international average is closer to 80%), and averages
34 points per student (the international average is only 32), while
the maximum is 45 points.?

I also got this email today

Only Waingels School has a Berkshire address. However since English
counties are irregular you could consider the following as bein in
that vicinity ;

ACS Egham in Surrey
Henley College
King Edwards Witley
TASIS in Surrey

These represent an enormous range of schools both in size and governance.
Good hunting!

I thought this might help you!

Virtual High School is currently developing and testing an
International Baccalaureate pilot program. The pilot program is
currently only available to students that have been invited to
participate in the initiative. You can try. Good luck.
