Hi,

I've been in search for an inexpensive video on demand system that
allows customer's checking into small hotels/motels with 150 or less
rooms to watch movies on TV in their room. This system should include the
following features:

--Should be compatible with all TVs.
--hold 15-25 movies on the server.
--Customer should be able to watch movies on TV from their room.
--Pricing of the system should not exceed more than $15,000.
--System should include billing and reporting tools. 

If you can please provide inexpensive solutions, or guide me to the
right place would be highly appreciated.

Hi denypat-ga!

Usually in cases like these, the pricing isn't advertise or even known
since different hotels have unique work requirements thereby having
different installation costs and quotes. It seems that the
installation and the number of equipment needed for a specific hotel
and complexity of the work needs to be negotiated with the particular
company that will provide the video-on-demand system.

Another problem is that in services like these, they also have to
inspect your hotel since maybe the design will provide additional
installation challenges.

Would a list of hotel video-on-demand providers with their contact
information be enough as an answer so that you can negotiate a price
and also be able to ask if their system is appropriate for the
requirements you stated below?

Hi,

It would be helpful to get a list of Video-on-demand providers. 
However, my plan is to become a video-on-demand provider myself to
provide these similar solutions at a lower cost.  I've talked to quite
a few providers in the past and their solutions start at $25,000+. 
With this being the price, small business owners can't afford these
solutions.

It would be awesome if you can provide me technical details on how to
make this solution possible from both software and hardware
perspective?

Would software and hardware product samples be ok with you instead of
technical details. Some video-on-demand providers give out information
on the type of hardware and software that they use. Is this ok with
you?

Do you still need or want a list of these providers? If yes, how many

Yes, please send me the list of these providers.  Also, sample of all
the hardware and software used is perfectly fine.  In addition if
possible, with combination of both hardware and software, type of
adapters are used to get a channel or convert TV to IP to be used with
these application would be helpful as well.

If can get these details, that would satisfy my needs.
