I would like to know 5 top sources/documents concerning so called
theory of "sexual scripts", i.e. the culture-specific process of heterosexuals
to get to know each other and become a couple. The results should not
be of the "clinical paper" for Ph.D, nor of the "dating guru" type. Perfect
would be something like a university seminar paper, describing in simple terms
the different theories and observations from reality (how it is
different in different countries, wha t people do wrong, etc, ...)and
references to books.

Something on the background of the question:
When using Wikipedia I came across a study of Margereth Meade
conducted in World War II England, in which she analysed how American
GIs got to know English women. Her result was a theory stating that
getting to know each other and "mating" was always a process involving 30
steps in getting closer to each other. How these steps looked like and
the order of them was culture spcific and led in the above example to
confusion and trouble. I found that really interesting and now I
wonder what researcher have found out since then
