Question ID: 566006
On either August 26 or August 27 there was an article link on the MSN
homepage about fathers. The article was linked from the area that
changes at the top of their homepage. In that article there was a
reference to a Doctor in Sacremento, CA who has reduced his work hours
so that he can spend more time with his children. It also gave the
doctor's name. I believe that it came from the MSN family website. I
cannot find this article even though I have searched the archives on
MSN Family. Can someone help me find this article please?

Hi pastordave,

Is there anything else you can remember about the article? A part of
the doctor's name, maybe? Anything, no matter how small might help in
this search. Thanks.

Best regards,
Rainbow

I remember that the in the article the doctor was quoted as saying
that his own father did not spend enough time with him. The article
was about fathers in general; but it did quote the doctor from
Sacremento, who is a family physican. Thank you for your help very
much. I also believe that it was originally on the MSN family website.
I was hopeing that there might be a way to view the archieves from the
MSN homepage. Thanks again.

Hi pastordave,

I believe I finally located the article you are looking for. The
following is an excerpt:

"One of my first memories growing up was wishing that my father would
be home more," recalls Andrew Hudnut, M.D., a family doctor in
Sacramento, California. "I was 8, and we had just returned from a
canoe trip. I remember thinking, 'I don't want a bigger house or more
money. I just want my dad around.'"

When his wife gave birth, Hudnut arranged his practice so he could be
home to take care of his son, Seamus, two days a week; he sees
patients on the other three workdays. "It was a very natural
transition," he reports. "I'm grateful to have the opportunity my
father never had."

Search Strategy:
After trying numerous variations of keywords, the following set of
words led me to the article:
[sacramento physician "spend more time" home children "my father" family]

I first located the article here:
http://www.stayathomemomsonline.com/allfordad.html

To verify this same article was found on the MSN website I did the
following search using Google:
inurl:msn "The Making of a Modern Dad"

I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions regarding my answer
please don?t hesitate to ask before rating it.

Thanks! I had found this one, but I really need that article because
my brother just moved to Sacremento, and he wants the name of the
doctor that was referenced in that article. Thanks for your help.
