Question ID: 56605
Is there a way to have any X10 compatible software control an MP3
player (software). I have a full x-10 system that controls everything
in my office.

When the motion detector sensor detects something, it sends a signal
to the PC, which turns on the lights, and fires up the hot water
brewer. It would be cool if the computer could also start playing mp3
files.

Thanks

hi sherpaj

What about script control? Have you considered
that? I believe you just add the command to
bring up Winamp or whichever, when the computer
receives whatever signal is sent to it.

We have a Windows computer and a Mac OSX computer (with itunes 3), and
can use ether one. We have the x10 serial port adaptor on the windows
computer. I need to know what x10 software to use, and how to get it
to trigger the playing of MP3s. Hope that helps

Hi

I remembered a few plugins addressed
the X10 functionality in Winamp.
Those are for the X10 mouse control.

Are you familiar with this product?

How much control beyond this do you need?

have you considered X10 scripting?

Thanks to alienintelligence-ga's comment, I was able to find a link to
something that might solve the problem. Here it is:

http://www.x10.com/products/x10_ak11a.htm. I think these will nail
it.
