I'm looking for Graduate history programs, preferably but not exclusively PhD programs, in which I will be able to focus on some aspect of Palestine. Most importnatly, I am looking for professors that have specialized in Palestinian history, or that are willing to sponsor students studying Palestinian history, such as can be found at Columbia and Stanford. I am interested in strong history programs, but this does not mean I am uninterested in lesser known universities that meet the criteria above. To summarize, I'm looking for a list of potential professors that I can contact in regards to doing graduate work on the history of Palestine, with the goal of gaining their support before they receive my application in December. |

I'd do a search of history journals for articles about Palestinian history. Not being a history person, I don't know of the big history journals off the top of my head, but I bet if you go to any university library they can help you and sometimes you can search databases through public library websites. Once you find articles about topics you are interested in, look at the authors and see where they teach. I'd use that as a jumping off point for finding a grad program since your interest is so specific. I bet you could even email some of them directly and see if they have any recommendations. Good luck. |
