Is there a specific focused request of information you need? Are you attempting to remove any components yourself, do you have a current upgrade of the internals, or just to have the book, in-case-stuff-happens scenario? As a Technology VAR (Valued Added Reseller) it is a previlege to have access to large companies repository of data and its media formats. Toshiba was correct in telling you what it did. It is no different than when you purchased your new car from a dealer, not the plant where it was built. Service is a premium, or everyone else would make a product that does not need any service and last a lifetime, and Google Answers would not need to be used, EVER. Simply, information costs the mfr money to build a product, recruit, and train support technicians. So these specific manuals do not exist because many of these specific procedures are taught through seminars, global distribution, al the way down to the little hometown computer company's onsite training in order to secure retention of technology growth, books cost and prevent competition who can build from your exploded view manuals. It's not a trusting world out here. Let us know what it is you are really needing, we are more than gald and able to support you specific request. |

I think it is BS that Toshiba does not release the service manuals for their laptops. If I owned any type of vehicle I can get the service repair manual for it which gives step by step instructions on tearing the car apart and rebuilding it if I so choose. I am a certified computer technition who recently purchased a Toshiba P30 Notebook and would like to know all the parts in case something happens to it I want to order the broken part and replace it myself. I have done this on countless other laptops (IBM, NEC, Dell) without a problem... If I had known that it was impossable to get a service and repair manual for a toshiba I would have bought a different laptop. Sorry I couldnt answer your question but I just had to wholeheartedly disagree with the above commentor who thinks its great that Toshiba does not release the repair manual other than to money hungry dealers who 9 times out of 10 will overcharge for a simple fix. |
