Theatre in the Round will be putting on a production of Henrick Ibsen's "Ghosts" this season, directed by Craig Johnson. What translation are they planning to use? Lanford Wilson's? Michael Meyer's? Rolf Fjelde's? Or will Craig Johnson create his own adaptation? I want the name of the translator. |

Perhaps in the translation by Dr. Jerry Turner, but this is just a stab in the dark: http://www.aislesay.com/SF-OREGON-05.html |

Arduser, If you scroll down this site about 1/3 (only in cache) you will find the following: " Brian Johnston, whose translation of Ghosts (with Rick Davis) provided the script for Open Door?s 1999 production of that Ibsen masterpiece, does a nice job of rendering Rosmersholm in English. But Johnston cannot disguise the play?s major drawback." http://66.249.93.104/search?q=cache:RcCO0HELEyMJ:www.cvnc.org/th-arch.html+%22minneapolis+star%22+ibsen+ghosts+translation+OR+translator&hl=de&client=firefox-a This suggests strongly that Johnston will be using is own translation/adaption. Found with: "minneapolis star" ibsen ghosts translation HOpe this helps, Myoarin |
