Question ID: 566505
I'd like the names of five or more theatrical feature films (not
travel videos) whose action takes place in Belgium.

Criteria:

- "Set in Belgium" does not have to mean exclusively; let's say a "major portion"
- Region of special (but not exclusive) interest: Bruges/Brugge
- Time of action: can be past or present (bonus points for a medieval setting)
- Language: English (subtitles ok)
- Subject matter: anything but war movies - meaning no WWI or WWII pictures

Additional points of interest: good footage of cityscapes and
landscapes, location feel, drama that gives a true reflection of the
culture

These do not have to be films that are available for rental (that is,
I am not asking you to check on availability or provide links for
purchasing), but that's my next step: I am going to try to rent
and/or purchase them. This question is about existence, not access.

Thank you,

Hello archae0pteryx-ga,

Nice to see you back. Bobbie's list is terrific. Here are a few more.
I keep thinking that part of Two for the Road with Audrey Hepburn and
Albert Finney also was shot in Belgium, but that might be my memory
playing tricks. I loved that movie.

I hope your story is progressing well.

Thanks, czh, for your additional suggestions--most welcome--and for
your good wishes.

I did see your other message, posted elsewhere, before it (again
inexplicably) disappeared. I appreciate your point of view, but I do
not accept the analogy. Posting a Q on GA is not like showing your
mechanic $100 with a sweet smile and asking him to fix your car for
that. It's more like going down to auto row, waving your $100, and
saying, "Who'll fix my car for this?" You might get a few catcalls
from the upscale mechanics, but if someone is willing to do the job
decently, that's enough. If someone isn't, so be it. The customer
doesn't finger the provider; it's self-selecting, and whoever takes it
on does it on those terms and for his or her own reasons.

As for the matter of "branding," I barely understand what you said.
Such an idea never crossed my mind.

Regards,
Archae0pteryx
