Question ID: 566586
I am looking for Voice over IP (VOIP) service in Daegu (Taegu) Korea.
I need a service which will:
1. provide me a local Daegu phone # OR local Seoul phone #
2. Tolerate English only customers
3. is "open" meaning I can bring my own device (Asterisk PBX)

I have tried searching with google BUT most of the english sites seem
to be USA or Europe targeted. Perhaps there is a researcher who reads
Hangul?

Dear LostAmerican,

Have you tried Lingo?

If you are satisfied with Lingo, please let me know so I can post it as an answer.

Hello politicalguru,

Yes, I have looked at Lingo. Their website talks about offering phone
numbers in Korea. BUT when I attempted to signup, their website did
not appear to supply a valid Korean phone number.

Also, they appear to require me to use their device and I was hoping
to use my Asterisk PBX.

Dear Lost American,

Thank you. When I've tried to sign up for their "Asia" deal (for
example), I was offered a Seoul number (though I did not commence
further, of course, because I did not want to pay, so I cannot tell
for sure).

As for the router, it is indeed a problem. Some services work without
a new router, even if they demand that you get theirs. However, right
now it seems that Lingo is the only one offering a Seoul number.
